Brooke died at a local hospital yesterday afternoon at 6:30 o'clock after a brief illness. He was 65 years old. Mr. Brooke, while not a native of Norfolk, was a Virginian by birth and has been a well known resident of this city for the past 39 years. He was formerly engaged in the wholesale grocery business here. He was a director of the Seaboard National Bank and a vestryman in St. Luke's P.E. Church. He is survived by a wife, one son, Douglas Brooke, with the American Expeditionary Forces in France, two sisters, Mrs. John C. Wise, of Washington and Mrs. A.P. Davies, of Gloucester County and one brother, Richard T. Brooke, of this city. Funeral arrangements have not yet been completed. ************************************************************************* The funeral of Warner L. Brooke was held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church yesterday, services being conducted by the rector, Rev. D.W. Howard, D.D. Burial was in Elmwood, the pallbearers being R.W. Tomlin, Tazewell Taylor, E.S. Ruffin, Southgate Taylor, H. Ward, J.B. Morgan, R.M. Wilkinson and G.S. Briggs.
