He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. William T. Brooke of this city and the grandson of the late James V. Brooke of Warrenton, and of John Goode of Bedford and Norfolk, who for several years represented this district in the National House of Representatives. Young Mr. Brooke was well known in Norfolk and had many friends here and also at the University of Virginia, where he was a student of law. He is survived by his parents, a brother, James V. Brooke of Norfolk; three sisters, Mrs. James Grant of Denver, Col., and Miss Elizabeth Brooke and Miss Jeannie Brooke, both of Norfolk. The funeral will take place this afternoon at 4 o’clock at St. Luke’s P. E. church and will be conducted by the rector, Rev. D. W. Howard, D.D. Burial will be in Elmwood. Mr. Brooke had been ill about a year. Previous to that time he had been for two years in the university law school. His earlier education was received at Norfolk Academy and the High school.
