BROOKS, MRS. EMILY JOHNSTON – In a Norfolk hospital, Thursday, MRS. EMILY JOHNSTON 
BROOKS, widow of William Born Brooks, and daughter of the late Robert Simpson and 
Mrs. Abbie Wilson Johnston, in the 53rd year of her age. A funeral service will be 
held in H. D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk, Saturday at 11 o’clock. Burial, 
Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, make donations to the Eastern Virginia 
Medical School.
