Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Friday, January 25, 1991 
Irene Brooks of the 3900 block of Cape Henry Ave., a retired dressmaker, died
Jan. 23, 1991, in a hospital.

A native of Norfolk, she retired from the garment district of New York City
after 30 years. She was a member of First Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include four nieces and three nephews, Geraldine Hines and John Hines,
both of Virginia Beach, Brenda Diggs, Linda Hines, Johnny Hines and Kermit
Diggs, all of Norfolk, and Lillian Caraway of Portsmouth.

The funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday in First Calvary Baptist Church
by the Rev. J.L. White. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . The body will be
placed in church at 10 a.m. The family will assemble at 3931 Cape Henry Ave.,
Apt. 3. Graves Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
