Norfolk Journal and Guide, Jul 20,1963

Virginia Beach - Mrs. Mattie Brooks, 77,  of Burton Station, who died at her 
home July 15, will receive final rites Sunday at 2 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist 
Church.

The Rev. J. L. Parke will officiate at the service.  Burial will be in Calvary 
Cemetery under direction of Hale Funeral Home.

A native of Enfield, NC, and a member of the Ebenezer choir, Mrs. Brooks is 
survived by a son, Robert Brooks;  two daughters, Mrs. Pearl Martin and Mrs. 
Mary Lee Harold;  a brother, Will Montgomery; and a grandson.
