NORFOLK - Final rites were held Sunday for Mrs. Mary Brooks of 1291 Duchess
avenue in First Calvary Baptist Church, where she held membership.  The Rev. C.
E. Griffin officiated.

A native of Providence, RI, she was the widow of Wilson Brooks and a daughter of
William Powell and Mrs. Phillis Powell.

She is survived by two sons, Charles Brooks of Norfolk and Samuel Brooks of
Jamaica, LI, NY; and a brother, the Rev. Silas T. Powell of Mt. Vernon, NY; and
two grandchildren.

Interment was in Calvary Cemetery with Morning Glory Funeral Home in charge.
