E. A. Brosnan, pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church, whose body will lie in state in that edifice, starting at noon until the funeral services are opened tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock. Arriving this morning over the Old Bay Line from Baltimore, where the popular pastor died last Thursday afternoon, the body will be taken at 8 o'clock to the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 1501 Colonial avenue, and removed from there to the church at 11:45 o'clock. An honor guard made up of the Holy Name Society and other men's organizations of the church will act as an escort on both occasions. Definite information was received yesterday that the Most Rev. Peter L. Ireton, bishop-coadjutor for the Richmond Diocese, will attend the services. Also in attendance will be at least 100 priests from the Atlantic Seaboard, most of them attached to the diocese which embraces Virginia and part of West Virginia. Funeral Service Funeral services tomorrow morning will open at 9:30 o'clock with the reading of the office of the dead by the priests of the diocese. At 10 o’clock a solemn requiem mass will be celebrated with Father Joseph Magri, of Portsmouth, the celebrant, assisted by the Rev. Phillip P. Brennan, of Virginia Beach, and the Rev. Leo J. Ryan, of Norfolk. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Delegations from the various units of the Tidewater Holy Name Society, of which Father Brosnan was diocesan director, have been assigned various hours for prayer services today. The Portsmouth branch will meet in the church from 12 noon to 2 o'clock, the Old Point and Newport News branches from 2 to 4 o’clock and the Berkley branch from 4 to 6 o'clock. All-Night Vigil Members of the Blessed Sacrament parish will meet for prayer services tonight from 6 to 8 o’clock, and the hours from 8 to 10 have been assigned for communicants of the Holy Trinity parish, Ocean View. An all-night vigil will be kept by delegations from St. Mary’s and the Sacred Heart parishes. Other prayer services will be conducted this afternoon and tonight as follows: From 12 to 1 o'clock by altar boys of the church; from 1 to 2 o’clock by members of the Junior Holy Name Society; from 2 to 3 o’clock by the Blessed Virgin Sodality; from 3 to 4 o’clock by Catholic Daughters of America; from 4 to 5 o'clock by the Daughters of Isabella; from 5 to 6 o’clock by Ladies of Charity; from 6 to 7 o’clock by The Crusaders; from 7 to 8 o’clock by St. Mary Alumni members, and from 8 to 9 o'clock by the Knights of Columbus.
