The Virginian Pilot Sunday August 5, 1962
HICKORY - Mrs. Ida Mitchell Brothers, 90, died Saturday at 3:40 p.m. in her 
home after a long illness.
A native of Edenton, N.C., she was a daughter of William and Mrs. Carolyn 
Mitchell and the widow of Benjamin Luther Brothers.  She lived 50 years in 
Norfolk County, where she was a member of Indian Creek Baptist Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Virgie Bauman of Long Beach, 
Calif.; Mrs. Letty Carter of Norfolk and Mrs. Bertha Averill of Hickory; two 
sons, Robert E. Brothers and Johnnie L. Brothers of Hickory; 27 
grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren.
The body was taken to Graham Funeral Home.
