Mrs. Brothers was born in Norfolk and was the widow of Eugene Reginald Brothers. She was a member of New Calvary Baptist Church, where she was retired as church clerk after over 40 years of service. She was a member of the Pulpit Committee, Deaconess Board, Missionary Society, Prayer Band, Wednesday Night Bible Study Group, Sunday School teacher, director of New Calvary Baptist Church Kiddie Kollege, and a member of Founding Families of New Calvary Baptist Church. She was also a member of Arabia Court (NU)23, Daughters of Ises (PHA), Aida Chapter (NU)20 Order of Eastern Star (P.M.) (OESPHA), Salvation Army, Brambleton Senior Citizens Club, New Light Lodge (NU)198 Widow's Club. She was recently honored by the Daughters of Ises for being a past matron. Survivors include a daughter, Margaret B. Dunn and son-in-law, Jesse A. Dunn Jr. of Lithonia, Ga.; a sister, Vernice R. Smith of Norfolk; four grandchildren, Shanae Andrea, Maria Louise, Marcel Bernard and Adrianne Nikol Dunn, all of Lithonia; nieces, Marilyn A. Smith of Augusta, Ga., Vernice S. Glennon of Bridgeport, Conn.; and a host of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her mother, Annie Randall and father, Lee Randall. A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in New Calvary Baptist Church by the Rev. Gilbert Campbell Jr. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . An Eastern Star service and a wake service will be held Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. in Hale Funeral Home. Family and friends will assemble at the home on Saturday at 12:15 p.m. for the processional to the church.
