Brothers, Sr., 52, Of Willoughby, Dies In Hospital A 52-year-old carpenter was killed and a middle-aged woman was injured in two separate automobile-pedestrian accidents late yesterday afternoon within an hour. Paul Lee Brothers, Sr., of 1707 Willoughby Avenue, was struck down as he crossed the street at the intersection of Park and Claiborne avenues just after 6:30 p.m. He was carried to Norfolk General Hospital by Patrolmen A.E. Hodges and J.A. Raper, where he died at 7:20 p.m. Police have placed technical charges of homicide against Oliver Dwight Moorts, Jr. 22, of the 3200 block of Lafayette Boulevard, whom they said was the driver of the car. Brothers who worked for the Lane Construction Company, was a Norfolk County native and had lived in the city for the past 20 years. He was a member of the Elbow Baptist Church. He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Randall Toonk, of Pennsylvania; Mrs. Allen G. Jones, Miss Helen E. and Miss Mary E. Brothers, all of Norfolk; eight sons, Paul Lee, Jr., Leslie H., Robert I., Harry L., Barry F., Larry T., Carl W. and Kenneth W. Brothers, all of Norfolk; two sisters, Mrs. John Swink, of Portlock and Mrs. Jessie Land, of Norfolk. The body was moved to the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home. *********************************************************** Paul Lee Brothers, Sr. --Funeral services for Mr. Brothers were conducted at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home yesterday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. T.D. Wesley. Pallbearers were J.H., A.G. and F.W. Jones, R. Toonk, C.D. Grant and P.O. Tarpley. Burial was in Riverside Memorial Park.
