Norfolk Virginian Pilot December 11, 1945

Mrs. Mamie Lee Broughton, 80, widow of J.M. Broughton, died at the residence, 
1700 Willoughby Avenue, yesterday at 12:55 a.m. after a long illness.
She was the daughter of the late Albert Clifton and Susan Thompson Griswold.
Mrs. Broughton is survived by a sister, Mrs. Charles O. Dozier; a brother, W.C. 
Griswold, both of Norfolk; a cousin, Capt. Harry E. Jenkins, USN; a niece and 
nephew.  She was president of the Ladies' Guild for over 40 years, a member of 
the King's Daughters, Brambleton Garden Club, Virginia Chapter, O.E.S. and the 
Navy Y.M.C.A. Club.
The body will be taken from the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home to the St. Peter's 
Episcopal Church, of which she was a member, for funeral services tomorrow at 
noon.  The body will lie in state from 11 o'clock until time for the services.  
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
