Mrs. Mary L. Brown, sister of the late D. G. Jacox for whom D. J. Jacox 
Junior High School was named, died in a Norfolk hospital on Saturday, April 
30 following a long illness.

Mrs. Brown, daughter of Richard and Mrs. Caroline Jacox, was a native of 
Norfolk, and resided at 1373 Chapel Street. She was a widow of William 
Brown.

A funeral service was held Tuesday, May 3, at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church 
with the Rev. F. P. Wise, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Calvary 
Cemetery.

Mrs. Brown is survived by one sister, Miss Penolope Jacox of Norfolk.

Hale Funeral Home handled funeral arrangements.
