A funeral service was held recently at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Virginia 
Beach for Richard Henry Brown, 70, a retired waiter of 808 17th street, 
Virginia Beach, who died in a hospital in that city.

A native of Powhatan, Mr. Brown was the son of Richard H. Brown and Mrs. 
Mary Walston Brown.  He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Richmond 
and the Princess Anne Civic Organization.

The deceased was a waiter at the Cavalier Hotel for 20 years.

The Rev. T. M. Walker, Mt. Olive pastor, officiated at rites for Mr. Brown.  
Burial was in Calvary Cemetery under direction of Hairston Funeral Home.

Mr. Brown is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lena Jones Brown, a son, James Brown 
of New York;  three daughters, Mrs. Lucille Harvey of Washington, Mrs. 
Elizabeth Myles of Richmond and Miss Jean Brown of Virginia Beach;  two 
sisters, Mrs. Grace B. Tucker and Miss Lucy Brown of New York;  and a 
brother, John Brown of Richmond.
