NORFOLK — George Henry Brown Jr., 94, of 4601 Mayflower Road, Apartment 8B, died 
Monday in a hospital.
He was a native of Portsmouth and had retired from a job with civil service. He 
was a member of Park Place Baptist Church and the board of deacons.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Coleman Brown; a daughter, Jane B. Elmer of 
Norfolk; a son, Dr. Richard C. Brown of Africa; five grandchildren; and three 
great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are pending at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk.
