Norfolk Virginian September 13, 1885
The funeral of Mr. Washington L. Brown took place from his late residence on Wood 
street yesterday morning, and was largely attended.  The services were conducted 
by Rev. L. B. Betty and the following gentlemen acted as pallbearers: James 
Holland, W. W. Vicar, W. A. Simmons, --- Sykes, Henry Whitehurst and Edward 
Whitehurst.
