Norfolk - Mrs. Thomasine W. (Jackie) Brown of 2745 Mapleton Ave., the 
daughter of Mrs. Mary C. and the late John L. Williams, died Monday, June 20 
in a hospital after a short illness.

The wife of Bernard Brown, she was a native of Norfolk and a beautician for 
30 years.  She ws a member of St. John AME Church, the Female Usher Board 
No. 2, the Astor Social Club, and the local beautician association.

Other survivors include a son, Julius R. Brown of Norfolk;  two sisters,  
Mrs. Eunice W. Walden of Chesapeake, and Mrs. Lula W. Johnson of Virginia 
Beach;  and five grandchildren.

A funeral was held Friday, June 24 in St. John AME Church, Bute Street, by 
Dr. A. R. Powell.  Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.  Hale Funeral Home had 
charge.
