Brown, of 550 E. 18th street, first daughter ruler of American temple of Elks. She died Feb. 14 in Paterson, NJ, where a funeral was held at Second Baptist Church with the Rev. R. A. Doaks officiating. The Rev. W. B. Westbrook of New Central Baptist Church officiated at the cemetery rites. Burial was under direction of Riddick Funeral Home. Born in Isle of Wight county 56 years ago, Mrs. Brown was a trustee of the Daughters of Elks’ council and was a member of her church’s usher board and Missionary Circle. Survivors include four sisters, Mrs. Fannie Crocker of Norfolk, Mrs. Sarah Huggs, Mrs. Flossie Burroughs and Mrs. Anna Stitt of Paterson.
