Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - November 21, 2007
NORFOLK - Ella L. "Grandma" Brown , 69, of the 400 block of Chapel St., passed 
away Nov. 16, 2007, in her residence. She was born March 9, 1938, in Norfolk. 
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Norfolk. Ella was employed with 
Norfolk Public Schools where she served 20 years in food service. 

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Daniel Brown ; three daughters, 
Daniella Brown , Jacqueline Grahmn and Annette Reed; two sons, Albert Reed and 
Derrick Dougens; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of 
adopted grandchildren, other relatives and friends. 

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Metropolitan Funeral 
Service, 7246 Granby St. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Norfolk. Family 
and friends will assemble at 414 Chapel St. one hour prior to the service for 
the procession to the chapel. Viewing will be held today at the funeral home.
