Brown, 75, a retired Norfolk Naval Shipyard employee, received final rites Sunday at Queen Street Baptist Church. The service was conducted by the Rev. J. Jasper Freeman. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery under direction of Graves Funeral Home. Mr. Brown, who lived at 732 Fremont street, died in a local hospital April 24. A native of Scotland Neck, NC, he was the son of the late Walker Brown and Mrs. Carrie Brown. He lived in Norfok more than 50 years. The deceased held membership in Queen Street Church and Malachi lodge of Ancient, Free and Accepted Masons. His survivors include his wife, Mrs. Annie Brown; six stepsons, Preston, Ernest, Theodore and Leroy Cason of Norfolk, and Waverly and Wendell Cason of New York; and two stepdaughters, Miss Melba Cason of New York and Mrs. Marian Jordan of Norfolk.
