BROWN, FUNERAL HOME DIRECTOR

Columbus Brown, of 1526 Virginia Beach Blvd., funeral director at Hale Funeral 
Home for 20 years, died Thursday in a hospital after a short illness.
A native of Fuquay Springs, N.C., he was a son of Andrew Brown and husband of 
Mrs. Shirley E. Brown.
Surviving, besides his widow, are two sons, Neal Brown and Columbus Brown Jr. of 
Norfolk; three brothers, Edward Brown and Nathan Brown of Raleigh, N.C. and J.C. 
Brown of Richmond; and a sister, Mrs. Bertha Baker of Fuquay Springs.
A funeral service will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in Union United Church of 
Christ by the Rev. Z.P Jenkins.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with Hale 
Funeral Home in charge.
