She was a native of Salisbury, N.C., but had made her home in this section 28 years where she was well known and esteemed. She was a daughter of Mrs. Gertrude James Vogler Motley and the late Charles Henry Brown and stepdaughter of Thomas J. Motley. Besides her mother and stepfather, she is survived by one brother, James Mitchell Brown. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Norfolk. Funeral services will be conducted at the residence tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock and burial will be in the family lot in Magnolia Cemetery.
