Norfolk - Final rites for Allen D. Brown, 65, of 828 Marshall avenue were held
in St. John’s AME Church July 29.   The Rev. A. R. Powell officiated.

A native of Norfolk, he was a son of Daniel D. and Mrs. Hattie Steptoe Brown and
the husband of Mrs. Frances Drew Brown.

He was a member of St. John’s A. M. E. Church and  a retired 26-year letter
carrier.

He was also a graduate of St. Paul’s School and Lincoln University and a member
of Omega Psi Phi fraternity.

He was a former teacher in the Norfolk school system.

Besides  his wife, he is survived by three sons, Allen Douglas Brown Jr., of
Havre de Grace, MD, and Robert Daniel Brown and Wendell Donald Brown of Norfolk;
 a sister, Mrs. Kathryn Bibbins of Norfolk;  and six grandchildren.

Interment was in Calvary Cemetery with Hale Funeral Home in charge.
