Brown aged 65 years. The funeral will take place Thursday afternoon, May 1st, 1902, at 4 o’clock from his late residence, Friends and acquaintances respectfully invited to attend. Public Ledger, Thurs., May 1, 1902 pg. 1 The funeral of Henry F. Brown took place this afternoon at 4 o’clock from his late residence, No. 200 Cumberland Street, and was conducted by Rev. Dr. B.D. Tucker, of the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. The interment was in Elmwood. Members of Pickett-Buchanan Camp, C.V., of which the deceased was a member were in attendance. Public Ledger, Wed., April 30, 1902 pg. 1 Mr. Henry F. Brown, a well-known citizen, died suddenly yesterday afternoon at his home, No. 200 Cumberland Street, aged 65 years. He was a native of Norfolk and had spent his life here. He was a Confederate Veteran, of Lee’s Army and lost an arm at the battles around Spotsylvania courthouse. He was a corporal in Company H (Independent Grays) Sixth Virginia Regiment, Mahone’s Brigade. He had a vivid memory of war scenes and recited tem with great interest. He leaves a widow and two children. The funeral will take place from his late residence at 4 o’clock tomorrow afternoon, and will be attended by Pickett-Buchanan Camp, C.V.
