She was the widow of Thomas Augustus (Capt Gus) Brown. A native of Norfolk, she lived there most of her life. Her parents were Napoleon Taylor and Mrs. Annie Price Bell. She was a charter member of Central Baptist Church, Norfolk, and in recent years a member of Kedron Baptist Church, Gladys. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Theresa Sanford Jones of Miami; a sister, Mrs. Vernon Wright of Norfolk; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted today at 7 p.m. in Kedron Baptist Church by the Rev. David Bailey and the Rev. Thomas Hardy. Burial will be Friday at 2 p.m. in Elmwood Cemetery, Norfolk, with Flynn Funeral Home, Gladys, in charge.
