Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Monday, December 6, 1999 
Catherine J. ``Cat'' Brown of the 800 block of Bagnall Road died Dec. 1, 1999,
in a local hospital.

Mrs. Brown was born May 31, 1941, and was a former employee of the Norfolk
Public School Board for 33 1/2 years. A native of Norfolk, she was the daughter
of the late Gladys Skinner and Selista Hudgins. She was predeceased by a son,
Albert R. Hudgins.

Survivors include a daughter, Catherine D. Bell and husband, Michael L. Bell, of
Norfolk; three sisters, Alice Skinner-Nash, Gladys Settles of Norfolk and Sarah
Blow of San Diego, Calif.; five brothers, Leroy, Michael, the Rev. Donald and
Marvin Skinner, all of Norfolk, and Daniel Skinner of Virginia Beach; four
grandchildren; an aunt, Catherine Gibbs of Norfolk; a very special friend, Frank
Beard; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at New Calvary Baptist Church by
Dr. G.G. Campbell. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery . The family will
assemble at 10 a.m. at 821 Bagnall Road. The body will be placed at the church
at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. Graves Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
