Virginian-Pilot July 21, 1921
Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Brown, 56 years old, wife of Willard E. Brown, died yesterday 
afternoon at 4 o’clock at her residence, 308 West Twenty-sixth street. She is 
survived by her husband, seven sons, J. P., W. H., H. H., H. G., E. W., and C. A. 
Brown, of Norfolk, and E. L. Brown, of New York; one daughter, Miss Annie C. 
Brown, of Norfolk; one sister, Mrs. D. P. Reid, Sr., of Norfolk; and one brother, 
Albert S. Dozier, of Norfolk. Funeral services will be held tomorrow morning at 11 
o’clock at the residence. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery.
