Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Thursday, February 19, 1998 
Minnie Jordan Brownson, 71, died Feb. 16, 1998, at Sentara Norfolk General
Hospital.

She was born in Norfolk and was a retired secretary. Mrs. Brownson was a member
of Grace Episcopal Church and a member of the Blooming Light Chapter of the
Eastern Star. Minnie was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School and
attended Norfolk State University. She was preceded in death by her brothers,
Judge Joseph A. Jordan Jr. and Franklin T. Jordan.

She is survived by her daughters, Harriett Brownson Smith, Leandra Delphine
Brownson and Harvella Ethelyn Brownson; sisters, Anna J. Brinkley, Agnes J.
Skinner, Fannie J. Walls and Margot J. Williams; brothers, Milton S. Jordan and
William H. Jordan; a grandchild, Heather M. Smith; and many cousins, nieces and
nephews.

A memorial service will be conducted at noon Friday in Grace Episcopal Church by
Father Harold Cobb. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . Graves Funeral Home is
handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the
American Diabetes Association, 101 W. Plume St., Norfolk, Va., or Grace
Episcopal Church.
