Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Saturday, January 27, 2001 
NORFOLK - William M. Brown Sr., of the 2800 block of Colchester Crescent, died
Thursday, Jan. 25, 2001.

A native of Norfolk, he was born March 17, 1925, to the late William and Lena
Brown. He was the widower of Mabel Reid Brown and retired as a postal worker
after 35 years of service. Mr. Brown was a member of St. Mary of the Immaculate
Conception Basilica Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include a daughter, Shiela Brown Wagner; four sons, Clay V. Brown,
Donald D. Brown, William M. Brown III, and Eric K. Brown; a brother, Frank
Brown; five grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was
predeceased by a son, Michael Brown; and a brother, Milton Brown.

A funeral will be at noon Monday in St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception
Basilica with Father John Dorgan officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery
. A viewing will be held Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m. at Riddick Funeral Services,
where the family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m.
