He was known as ``Charlie Brown.'' Born in Norfolk, he was a forklift mechanic for MDV Nash-Finch and a member of the Ballentine Neighborhood Patrol. Survivors include his wife, Ruby Brown; a daughter, Chavonia Delores Brown of Portland, Texas; a son, Charles Brown Jr. of Norfolk; his parents, Vivian and Edward Brown; a brother, Milton Brown; a grandchild, Marshai Denaye Brown; a niece, Stephanie Hawkins; and nephews, Leonard and LeRoy Brown. He was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Brown and a brother, Nathan Brown. A funeral will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Hale Funeral Home by Elder James Winfield Sr. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . A wake service will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
