Bruns, 65, of 137 W. Lorengo Ave., proprietor of Barnum-Bruns Iron Works, died Thursday at 6:50 p.m. in a hospital. A son of John J. and Mrs. Louise Mayberger Bruns, he was a native of New York City and lived in Norfolk 53 years. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Holy Name Society, and Norfolk Elks Lodge 38. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Margaret McCourt Bruns, two sons, John J. Bruns, of Norfolk and Raymond H. Bruns Jr., of Chesapeake; three daughters, Mrs. E. L. Noga, of Rockville, Md., Mrs. R. G. Bowerman, of Virginia Beach and Mrs. E. L. Gillikin, of Panama Canal Zone; a brother, Gilbert J. Bruns, of Lansdowne, Pa.; three sisters, Mrs. H. A. Johnson, of Memphis, Tenn., Mrs. P. J. Riley, of Portsmouth and Mrs. J. J. Evich, of Norfolk; and 16 grandchildren. The Rosary will be recited in H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments Monday at 7:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held in Holy Trinity Catholic Church Tuesday at 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
