The Norfolk Virginian Pilot Sunday January 9. 1938
Mrs. Virginia Norfleet Bryant, aged 77, died last night at 10:30 o'clock at a 
local hospital after a short illness. She was a native of Halifax County, N.C., 
and had resided in Norfolk 33 years. She was the widow of Joseph H. Bryant, and 
is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Eva E. Strickland and Mrs. Lula Godwin, of 
Richmond; four sons, Henry N. Dickens, Clarence L. Bryant and Arthur C. Bryant, 
all of Norfolk, and Frank W. Bryant, of Richmond; a brother, A. Dorsey Pender, 
of Lake City, Fla.; 20 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Derry 
Funeral Chapel, Colley and Harrington avenues. Burial will be in Riverside 
Memorial Park.
