Norfolk - Johnnie T. Bryant of 951 Marshall Avenue died Oct. 9, in Como, NC, 
after a short illness.

A native of Chesapeake, VA, he was the widower of Mrs. Millie D. Bryant and a 
son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Willie Bryant.

He was a retired businessman and a member of New Weeping Mary Baptist Church, 
M.W. Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Virginia, Excelsior no. 87.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Jean B. Summerville of Chesapeake, two 
sisters, Mrs. Inez Manokey of Chesapeake, and Mrs. Pauline Sanders of New York, 
three brothers, Willie Bryant of Norfolk, Robert Bryant of Chesapeake, and Ollie 
Braye of Virginia Beach, and four grandchildren.

A funeral service was held Oct. 18 at New Weeping Mary Baptist Church with the 
Rev. Johnnie White officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery. Jones Funeral 
Home had charge.
