Norfolk Landmark August 13, 1896
The funeral of Mr. James Buchanan took place yesterday afternoon at 3 o’clock from 
the Freemason street Baptist Church and was conducted by the Rev. Rufus Weaver, 
the temporary of the Park avenue Baptist Church. The interment was in Elmwood 
Cemetery. Members of Pickett-Buchanan Camp, C. V., Lafayette Lodge, and Jerusalem 
Encampment, I. O. O. F., to which the deceased belonged, were in attendance.
