She was a native of Elizabeth City, N.C. and had been a resident of Norfolk for 30 years, residing at 821 Brandon avenue. She was a daughter of the late Warren Ward and Mrs. Sara Eliza Whitson Cooper and widow of M.D. Buchanan. Mrs. Buchanan was a member and active worker of the Church of the Ascension. She had been associated with the Royster Guano Company, in the advertising department, for more than 20 years. She also was a member of the Eastern Star. Surviving her are three daughters, Mrs. Aubrey Bowden and Mrs. Edwin B. Forrest, both of Norfolk and Mrs. E.F. Babbitt of Washington; three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Mae Morse, Mrs. Paul T. Collins and Mrs. Branchley Gray, all of Norfolk; two brothers, Clyde W. Cooper, of Portsmouth and Julian W. Cooper of Tampa, Fla. and two grandchildren. The body will be taken from the Cox Funeral Home, 631 Westover avenue, at Manteo street, to the Church of the Ascension for funeral services tomorrow at 12 o'clock noon. The Rev. John F. Ward, rector, will officiate. Burial will be in the family plot in Magnolia Cemetery.
