The deceased was a woman of rare Christian virtues and was loved by a large circle of friends who will learn with sorrow of her untimely death. She leaves besides her husband two sons, one three years old, and the other an infant, also a mother, Mrs. Pennelit Whitehurst, five brothers, A.J., J.A., E.L., G.E. and A.H. Whitehurst and an only sister, Mrs. Luther H. Miller. The funeral will be solemnized from the residence Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock. ***************************************************************** The obsequies of Mrs. Bertie Allene Buchanan, wife of Rowland Buchanan, were solemnized from the residence of her husband, No. 110 North Park avenue, at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon and was numerously attended by the friends of the deceased. The service was conducted by Rev. W.G. Starr, D.D., of the Cumberland Street Methodist Church. The remains were laid to rest in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
