 Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Monday, December 20, 1999
Maude Collier Buchanan, 82, of the 1100 block of Woodland Terrace Drive, 
died Dec. 13, 1999, in a local hospital. 

She was born in Gloucester County, Va., and was the widow of Earl Buchanan 
Jr. 

Survivors include two daughters, Roberta Everett of Norfolk and Mary Ann 
Johnson of Chesapeake; a son, Joseph T. Buchanan of Chesapeake; two sisters, 
Margaret Meekins of Hertford, N.C., and Ellen Lee Hozier of Virginia Beach; 
two brothers, M.R. Collier of Chesapeake and Robert Collier of Daytona, 
Fla.; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in 
death by two brothers, C.L. Collier and H.M. Collier. 

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 26, in Cedar Grove 
Cemetery. The family requests that flowers be omitted and memorial donations 
be made to the Alzheimers and Related Disorders Association, No. 20 Koger 
Center, Norfolk, VA 23502. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, 
is handling arrangements.
