Buchanan and Sons, Fish and Oyster growers and shippers until his retirement a few years ago, died at a Mechanicsburg, Pa., hospital Saturday Night. He was a native of Princess Anne County and had lived in Norfolk most of his life. He was a member of Atlantic Lodge No. 2, A.F. and A.M., Norfolk United Royal Arch Chapter No. 1, Grice Commandery No.16 Knights Templar, Khedive Temple A.A.O.N.M.S. and a life member of Norfolk Lodge No. 38, B.P.O.E. He was the son of John W. and Mary Ballentine Buchanan and husband of Mamie Shellhouse Buchanan. Besides his wife he is survived by two daughters Mrs. James Foster of Norfolk, and Mrs. C. Edward F. Davis of Mechanicsburg; a son, Earl T. Buchanan, of Norfolk; three sisters, Mrs. John G. James, of Princess Anne County, Mrs. C.F. Beamer and Mrs. C.O. Johnson both of Norfolk; a brother Richard Buchanan, of Brooklyn, N.Y., four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
