She was the widow of Capt. Robert L. Buckner of Virginia, and was prominent in the social circles for years. She leaves a son, Rev. W. D. Buckner, rector of Trinity Church, two daughters, Mrs. M. A. Austin of this city and Mrs. Harry Dennis of Maryland, and three sisters and three brothers in Virginia. The funeral will be held here Saturday, after which the body will be shipped to Norfolk, Va. Rev. G. Gordon Smeade and Bishop W. M. Brown of Little Rock will conduct the services. Mrs. Buckner was one of the city's most noble women and was loved and esteemed by the entire community. Dr. Buckner, her son, was formerly grand chaplain of the Elks' national organization. ***************************************************************************** BUCKNER - At Pine Bluff, Ark., on Thursday, February 6, 1908, 4:40 p.m.. Virginian Pilot February 9, 1908 ******************************************************************************* The remains of Mrs. Mary B. Buckner, widow of Captain Robert L. Buckner, and formerly of Norfolk, who died at Pine Bluff, Ark. last Thursday, arrived here yesterday morning accompanied by her son, Rev. Walter D. Buckner. The interment was in Elmwood, Rev. James W. Owens, of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, officiating. Numerous floral tributes came with the remains and many others were sent by relatives and friends here The following were the pallbearers: R.J. Alfriend, Richard Taylor, J. Sydney Smith, James Proctor Jr., Virgil Proctor and C.S. Phillips.
