Virginian Pilot Tuesday March 9, 1971
Norfolk - Clarence H. Buck Sr., of 849 Avenue A, retired from the U. S. 
Custom House here and a former building contractor, died Sunday in a 
hospital.

He also had taught at A & T College in North Carolina.


A native of Southampton County, he was the husband of Mrs. Julia E. Buck and 
a son of the late John and Mrs. Julia Buck.

He was a member of First Baptist Church, Bute Street.

Besides his widow, surviving are a son, Clarence H. Buck Jr. of Norfolk; 
four daughters, Mrs. Bernice Shambry and Miss Julia E. Buck of Norfolk, Mrs. 
Araminta Foster of Philadelphia and Mrs. Catherine B. Mason of Elmira, NY; a 
brother, Vernon A. Buck of Atlanta; and six grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. in First Baptist Church, 
Bute Street, by the Rev. R. Paul Simms. Burial will be in the family plot at 
Calvary Cemetery with Hale Funeral Home in charge.
