Virginian Pilot December 3, 1977

SILVER SPRING, Md. - John W. Buffkin, 79, who retired in 1958 from the Norfolk 
Naval Supply Center, died Friday.
A native of Suffolk, Va., he was the husband of the late Mrs. Cecelia Y. 
Buffkin. He was a Catholic.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Cecelia B. Harrison of Silver Spring; two 
sons, John W. Buffkin, Jr. of Kansas City, Kan. and Charles R. Buffkin of 
Memphis, Tenn.; and a sister, Mrs. Edna Bateman of Hampton, Va.
The body is being sent to H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk, where a 
funeral will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery in 
Norfolk.
