A native of Norfolk and lifelong resident of Tidewater, she was the widow of William Wiley Burden. She was employed at Rices Nachmans department store for several years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Survivors include a niece, Bertrone Lex Nagy of Norfolk, and two nephews, George Samon of Elmwood Park, N.J., and John Samon of Haskell, N.J. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Elmwood Cemetery by the Revs. J. Shephard Russell Jr. and Richard W. Lovingood. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk, has charge.
