Virginian Pilot Saturday November 3, 1906
Martin L. Burford died at the home of his son, C.L. Burford, Bowden's Ferry 
road, at 5 o'clock yesterday morning at the ripe old age of 70 years.  He is 
survived by three sons, and two daughters--Thomas, William and C.L. Burford 
and Mrs. Annie Galvin and Mrs. Bettie Barrett.  The deceased had been ill 
for three months.  The funeral will be held from the residence of his son at 
11 a.m. today and will be conducted by the Rev. R.T. Waterfield, of the 
Methodist church.  The interment will be in Elmwood cemetery, Norfolk.
