Virginian-Pilot, Tuesday, March 26, 1901

Robert Burk, a negro wagon driver, was brutally killed in Mallorytown, at about a 
quarter to 7 o'clock Sunday morning. His wife had occasion to go out into the 
yard, and he was thus discovered and taken into the house.

Burk's body was carried to the morgue Sunday morning, from there it was buried in 
Calvary cemetery by his family.
