The Rev. John P. Ewen was celebrant of the mass, the Rev. E. A. Brosnan was deacon, the Rev. Leo J. Ryan was sub-deacon and the Rev. A. J. Taylor was master of ceremonies. Present in the sanctuary also were the Rev. Thomas E. Waters, the Rev. Edward L. Stephens, the Rev. H. J. McFadden, the Rev. M. J. Molloy, the Rev. P. C. Blackburn, the Rev. Stephen Rybacki and the Rev. John Kocella. During the service Mrs. S. A. Sutton sang "Face to Face," with Miss Kate Gorman as accompanist. There was a large attendance and many floral offerings. Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery. The pallbearers were Dr. C. C. Smith, Dr. E. C. S. Taliaferro, Dr. P. St. L. Moncure, Dr. S. A. Sutton, Dr. M. S. Fitchett, M. J. Murphy, M. J. Madden and John E. Milan. At the conclusion of the mass, Father Ewen paid a very high tribute to the Christian life and character of the deceased.
