Virginian Pilot November 9, 1971

Edward Joseph Burke, 62, of 416 Norfolk Ave. died in a hospital Monday.
He was a native of New York City and a resident of Virginia Beach for four 
months.
He was the husband of Mrs. Josephine Purcell Burke and a son of John and Mrs. 
Mary Hallorhan Burke.
He was a member of Star of the Sea Catholic Church.
Besides his widow, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Patricia Cornelissen, a 
granddaughter, Miss Patrice and a grandson, Thomas Cornelissen, all of Virginia 
Beach.
The Rosary will be said in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Laskin Road, tonight 
at 7.
A requiem Mass will be celebrated in Star of the Sea Catholic Church Wednesday 
at 9 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
