Virginian-Pilot October 30, 1932
Mrs. Mary Eliza Burns, widow of William A. Burns and daughter of the late 
Nathaniel and Mary Eliza Hill, died at a local hospital yesterday afternoon at 
5:30 o’clock. Mrs. Burns was a native and lifelong resident of Norfolk. She is 
survived by one brother, William Henry Hill, and a number of nieces and nephews. 
Funeral services will be held at H. D. Oliver’s Funeral Apartments, 610-12 East 
Freemason street, tomorrow afternoon at 2 o’clock, with the Rev. D. N. McLaughlin, 
D.D., pastor of the Second Presbyterian Church, officiating.
