Virginian-Pilot  July 3, 1900
The obsequies of Mrs. Margaret Burns, wife of Mr. Peter Burns, whose sudden death	
occurred at her home on Bute street Sunday morning, were solemnized from the 
Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 10 o'clock yesterday morning in the presence of a 
large congregation of sorrowing friends and relatives. Requiem mass for the repose 
of the soul of the dead was celebrated by the pastor, Rev. Father T. J. Wilson. 
The remains were laid to rest in Elmwood Cemetery. Following were the pallbearers: 
Messrs. James O‘Rourke, Martin Cashin, Edward Mahoney, John Coleman, Thomas 
Gormand(?), Michael Cashin, Patrick Hart and William M. Hanran. There were a 
profusion of beautiful floral tributes.
