Norfolk Virginian April 12, 1894
The funeral of J. J. Burroughs, Jr., the 15-year-old son of Capt. and Mrs. J. J. 
Burroughs, took place from the family residence, No. 48 York street, at noon 
yesterday and was conducted by Rev. B. D. Tucker, of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 
assisted by Rev. James I. Vance, of the First Presbyterian Church. The interment 
was in Elmwood Cemetery. The floral tributes were numerous.
