The Norfolk Virginian Pilot Tuesday January 26, 1954
Mrs. Eleanor Rellis Burruss, 83, widow of N. Charter Burruss, and daughter of 
the late John and Mrs. Elizabeth Long Rellis, a native of Saginaw, Mich., and a 
resident of Norfolk for 47 years, died at 3 a.m. yesterday at the residence, 
1358 East Ocean View Avenue.
Surviving her are three daughters, Miss Dorris J. Spindler, of Norfolk; Mrs. 
Margaret Shaughnessy, of Washington, D.C., and Mrs. Eleanor Synon, of Honolulu, 
T.H.; a granddaughter, Miss Marguerite Synon, of Honolulu; a sister, Miss Emily 
C. Rellis of Saginaw, and several nieces and nephews.
The body will be taken from the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to Holy Trinity 
Catholic Church for services tomorrow at 10 a.m.  Burial will be in Elmwood 
Cemetery.  Rosary services will be held at the funeral apartments today at 8 
p.m.
