V. C. BURROW DEAD IN ASHEVILLE Former Head of the Lee Rifles Went Thither For His Health Captain V.C. Burrow, of Norfolk, died this morning at the Battery Park Hotel, Asheville, N.C., where he went fortnight ago for his health. He had been failing for some time, but hoped to recuperate in a more southern climate. Captain Burrow was a son of the late Walter P. Burrow. His mother died here only a few weeks ago. He leaves a brother, W.B. Burrow, the patent attorney, of Norfolk. The deceased was widely known in Norfolk and vicinity and had numerous friends by whom he was very highly esteemed. He was formerly captain of the Lee Rifles, Norfolk, but has been on the retired list of the State militia for several years. He was clerk at the Ocean View Hotel the past summer. He was unmarried and about 35 years of age. The remains will arrive here Sunday morning for funeral and interment. ******************************************************************************* BURROW - At Asheville, N.C., November 23, 1906, VINCENT COLLINGWOOD, son of the late Walter P. and Victoria T. Burrow, whose death occurred at Asheville, N. C., last week, arrived here Sunday night. The funeral was held from the funeral apartments of H. D. Oliver, 520 Freemason street, yesterday morning and was conducted by Rev. Father R. A. Drake, of the Sacred Heart Catholic church. There was a handsome display of floral tributes. The remains were laid to rest in St. Mary’s cemetery. Following were the pallbearers: Frank Parrott, Alan G. Burrow, George Payne, C. H. Consolvo, Major B. W. Salomonsky, Captain E. W. Curdts, Captain P. E. Yeatman, Captain C. L. Wright and Fred Bryan.
